Why Product Life Cycles and EPDs Matter for Sustainable Architecture
Understanding a product's life cycle is more crucial than ever. From raw material extraction to manufacturing, distribution, usage, and finally, disposal, every stage of a product's journey has significant environmental implications. As we strive for more sustainable practices, gaining insight into these impacts helps us make informed decisions that benefit the environment and society.
What is an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)?
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a comprehensive, standardised document that provides detailed information about a product's environmental impact throughout its life cycle. It is based on rigorous, independently verified data and designed to offer transparency and comparability. EPDs enable architects, designers, builders, and consumers to assess the sustainability of products and make choices that align with their environmental goals.
Our Commitment to Sustainability through EPDs
At Decor Systems, we are committed to providing world-class architectural acoustic solutions that meet the highest standards of performance and aesthetics and contribute positively to the environment. Our dedication to sustainability is reflected in the EPDs we have developed for our products. By offering detailed environmental data, we empower our clients to make informed, sustainable choices for their projects.
In the following sections, we will outline the specific EPDs available for our range of products, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to transparency and environmental responsibility.
By providing EPDs, specifiers and builders have a good understanding of the environmental impacts of our products on the environment. Transparency is key in environmental products, and we aim to share as much as possible.
