FLINDERS UNIVERSITY, ADELAIDE, SA

DecorSlat MaxCreate

Architectus designed a vertical campus for Walker Corporation and Flinders University in Adelaide's Riverbank precinct, creating a new identity for the university within the Festival One Tower. This innovative space, known as "The Tower," is a learning, collaboration, and innovation hub.

The Festival Tower holds cultural significance as a Kaurna meeting place, particularly noted for its historical Climbing Tree. Architectus thoughtfully integrated the natural surroundings and the Climbing Tree into the design, utilising timber forms and materials throughout the space.

A standout feature is the DecorSlat MaxCreate system in the ceiling, which enhances the warmth of the interior while honouring the area's history and Indigenous heritage. The seamless design of the Slat MaxCreate creates an expansive visual effect, making the room feel open and airy.

CORRUPTION AND CRIME COMMISSION

DecorSlat Max, DecorStyle, DecorZen

The Corruption & Crime fit-out, designed by SPH Architecture + Interiors and constructed by Shape Group, was officially opened on March 14, 2018, by Attorney General Hon. John Quigley MLA LLB, JP, and Corruption and Crime Commissioner John Roderick McKechnie, QC. SPH Architecture + Interiors pushed the limits of DecorSlatMax to create a striking feature of angled slatted beams throughout the space.

The design concept embodies a sculpted interior terrain with geometric contours that intuitively wrap around and guide visitors. Visual cues enhance wayfinding, drawing attention to key points of interest.

This innovative approach fosters a sense of connection and collaboration among the staff and transforms the workspace into an inspiring environment that reflects the CCC's commitment to transparency and accessibility. In this new setting, the boundaries of design and functionality merge, creating a space that truly supports the mission of the Corruption and Crime Commission.

ST. IVES CARINE, WA

DecorZen

Designed by Hassell, the stunning new St Ives Carine retirement village exemplifies their architectural expertise. We were captivated by its unique contemporary design, impressive facilities, and luxurious amenities for residents, with the fabulous indoor pool taking centre stage.

For this project, DecorZen panels were selected for their moisture resistance, and our 99-year guarantee made Decor Systems the preferred supplier. The raked ceiling design creates a breathtaking effect, reflecting light and creating movement patterns throughout the space.

Elin Wedel, Project Architect at HASSEL, remarked, “The use of Decor Systems ceiling panels beautifully met the St Ives Carine brief, enhancing the pool pavilion with warmth and texture while achieving the desired acoustic environment. Working with the Decor Systems team was an enjoyable, collaborative experience that streamlined our design and delivery process.”

PERTH AIRPORT T1

DecorArti

Nothing is more original than having an acoustic wall crafted from your own unique design. Decor Systems' DecorArti Panels have been featured in an acoustical masterpiece installed at Perth Airport’s T1 Terminal.

The bespoke sculptures and perforated wall, titled “From the Skies,” were designed by Penelope Forlano of Forlano Design, with artwork text contributed by Doolann Leisha Eatts, a Whadjuk/Pibulman/Nyungar elder.

“At night, the elders would share dreamtime stories with us, guiding our gaze to the stars…”

This artwork, rich in cultural significance and acoustically superior, is a striking and meaningful addition to the airport, allowing travellers worldwide to appreciate it. As a Supply Nation-certified business, we proudly provide a platform for First Nations artists and architects to collaborate and showcase their work in the spaces we build and inhabit today, which is truly inspiring.

CURTIN UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE B410

DecorArti, DecorSlat, DecorZen, Vogl

Curtin University’s new Medical & Teaching Facility features a blend of formal and informal learning spaces, enhanced by cutting-edge audio-visual, communication, IT, and security systems, all set within a striking curved precast concrete façade.

One of the interior's most innovative aspects is the extensive use of timber finishes lining the main entrance, which extends to the full height of the atrium. Instead of traditional flat panelling, the design showcases timber fractal lining and 3D wall panelling with dynamic peaks, returns, and troughs.

Various acoustic panels were utilised, including perforated DecorZen, slatted timber, and seamless perforated plasterboard.

This exceptional design fosters an inspiring learning environment and sets a new standard for educational facilities. The seamless integration of innovative materials and technology creates a space that encourages collaboration and engagement among students and faculty alike. We are thrilled to see this vision come to life and excited for its positive impact on the Curtin University community for years to come.
