Pacific Golf Club
Pacific Golf Club, located in Carindale, just 10 kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD, has undergone a $10 million redevelopment. Designed by Thinktank Architects, the interior designed by Thomson Adsett and built by Minicon Constructions, this redevelopment has transformed the club's original 1960s clubhouse into a modern, state-of-the-art facility.
This upgraded space features a dining and bar area with over 250 seats, a large commercial kitchen, a business lounge, function and conference rooms, a mini-golf zone, a golf simulator area, and a new pro shop.
Decor Systems was engaged as the provider of acoustic ceiling and wall solutions and Fine Line Commercial was the awarded contractor for this project. We worked closely with the architects to understand their vision for this project. The interior design aims to refresh the club while honouring its 1960s heritage, creating an inviting atmosphere for both new members and the broader public while still resonating with longtime members.
The colour palette incorporates local timbers, greens, and brass accents, complemented by vintage murals and plaid patterns that reflect the golfing style of the era. The spaces have been thoughtfully designed to transition seamlessly from daytime to evening, accommodating various activities. With this in mind, Decor Systems combined DecorSlat Ali and DecorEagle to create the perfect blend of acoustic solutions.
DecorSlat Ali has become increasingly popular in modern spaces. This innovative, easy-to-install, clip-on batten system combines the strength and durability of aluminium with the option of a timber or powder coat finish.
DecorSlat Ali can be seen in the reception area in a continuous floor-to-ceiling feature and outside the primary entranceway to the club. This non-combustible product is maintenance-free and ideal for hard-to-reach surfaces like building facades. You can be assured your aesthetic vision will not be devalued by unsightly screws, hardware or fixings in sight— its solid and secure clip-on system makes it seamless.
For this project, our DecorSlat Ali was finished in a stunning pearl white matte powder coat, enhancing the space's elegance while complementing DecorEagle's slatted timber look.
DecorEagle is a prominent feature throughout the golf club, perfectly aligning with the architects' envisioned colour palette. Part of our Zen range, DecorEagle® offers a luxurious linear aesthetic. This exquisite panelling system enhances the acoustic quality of any space, with endless possibilities for design.
Crafted from premium MDF, these stylish panels feature a continuous grooved design that enriches any architectural vision.
Keeping in line with the seamless theme, there are designated landing points within the groove for easy installation. Fine Line Commercial were able to secure the panels directly into black MDF using black screws, attaching them straight to the furring channel. This eliminates the need for BJ2 or other fixing systems, streamlining the installation process.
DecorEagle is also fully GECA certified, can achieve full FSC® certification, and, depending on the chosen substrate and finish, can qualify for Green Star points. In this project, DecorEagle was finished in Blackbutt from our Smartlook range.
Our Smartlook range is designed to mimic traditional timber veneers' rich warmth and aesthetic appeal; SmartLook is available with Group 1 Fire Ratings, ensuring top-tier fire safety without compromising style.
With SmartLook, you can achieve the timeless elegance of timber while meeting stringent fire safety standards.
