Designed by six-time national award winner John Wardle Architects, the building’s design features innovative floor plans and meeting hubs to encourage collaboration, flexibility and creativity and a tranquil garden oasis with café operated by Whistle Dixie.
The firm’s Principal John Wardle said 900 Ann Street’s ability to connect people to each other and the surrounding landscape were key priorities for the building’s composition.
“Our design for 900 Ann Street emphasises the way people inhabit the ground with its stepped terraces and many places to sit and have a conversation. The foyer is like the front parlour of the office building, and feels like an extension of the existing garden landscape,” he said.
The landmark commercial building has been built to a five star Green Star Rating and a five-star NABERS energy rating and includes state-of-the-art end-of-trip facilities including 153 bicycle parks and 103 secure basement car spaces over two basement levels.
"This is a landmark project for Fortitude Valley, bringing 1,300 jobs during the construction phase and 1,700 Aurizon workers to the area once construction is complete.
