Wilston State School
Designed by Biscoe Wilson Architects, built by Wiley and expertly installed by C+P Linings, Wilston State School has recently undergone a multi-million-dollar transformation that sets a new benchmark for learning spaces in Queensland.
At the heart of this investment is the Multi-Purpose Hall & Performing Arts Centre, a stunning example of architectural excellence combined with durable construction. The hall has been fully fitted with DecorZen and DecorStyle, a winning combination that delivers both beauty and functionality.
Decor Systems, well-versed as acoustic specialists for multi-purpose halls, ensures that these new spaces achieve exceptional sound quality and performance to support a wide range of school activities. DecorZen was chosen for its outstanding acoustic performance, achieving an NRC of 0.80, ensuring every performance, assembly, and event is heard with clarity. The result is a vibrant, future-ready space where students can learn, perform, and thrive.
DecorZen also carries a Group 1 fire rating, delivering the highest level of safety. Finished in our SmartLook Plantation Oak, it brings a natural warmth and timeless elegance to the sports hall, creating an inviting space for students and the community alike.
Paired with this is our DecorStyle range - solid decorative panels, finished in Smartlook Plantation Oak, Black Oak, and Wenge. These smooth timber panels celebrate the natural variation of wood, helping compact spaces feel more open and expansive, while bringing warmth and character to larger, colder interiors.
Both acoustic solutions are certified by GECA, FSC ®, and Supply Nation, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing. We were proud to collaborate closely with C+P Linings to ensure timely delivery and precise, high-quality installation throughout the project.
The end result speaks for itself: beautifully installed products that deliver outstanding acoustic performance, creating a space that is not only highly functional but also visually stunning.

The criteria for the acoustics in this project included a 0.70 NRC Rating, impact resistance to allow for panels to absorb 'knocks' in the sports hall, a tight construction schedule and budgetary requirements. The innovative team at Bollig Design in partnership with Decor Systems were able to fulfil all these requirements.
