Redefining the Workspace
Nestled amidst the serene landscape of suburban Canberra, Brindabella Business Park has long been a hub for commerce and enterprise. Yet, despite its functional buildings and picturesque surroundings, it lacked a central gathering space to foster community engagement. In a bold move to reshape the traditional notion of business parks, the developers embarked on a journey to humanise and urbanise the space, resulting in a remarkable transformation.
Central to the revitalisation effort was the creation of a social heart within the business park. Architects Bate Smart understood the importance of fostering connections and providing amenities that enhance the daily experience of tenants and visitors alike. The result? An architectural masterpiece that seamlessly blends functionality with aesthetic appeal.
The team at Decor Systems worked collaboratively across departments and with the project architects to prototype and develop the exact requirements for the project. Incorporating timber products with an aluminium extrusion design was a first and the result is nothing short of spectacular.
At the core of the redesign are the soft-cornered triangular atriums, adorned with timber accents and illuminated by glass lifts. These dynamic spaces serve as focal points, drawing people in with their inviting atmosphere and vibrant energy. The innovative design elements, such as the light-reflecting 'blob' and perimeter skylight, not only fill the interior with diffuse daylight but also contribute to reducing heat load and improving air quality.
Brindabella Business Park demonstrates an admirable commitment to sustainability. The park has achieved prestigious certifications such as Gold WELL, 5-star NABERS, and 5 Green Star ratings, underscoring its dedication to environmental stewardship.
A standout feature of Brindabella Business Park is its commitment to sound management, achieved using Vogl seamless perforated plasterboard. Not only does Vogl enhance acoustics within the busy atrium space, but its eco-friendly credentials also contribute to the park's impressive array of certifications. Its bright white finish complements the natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere that inspires productivity and creativity.
Installed by Parliament Constructions, the seamless perforated plasterboard blends in effortlessly with the modern design whilst working hard to create an acoustic environment that is conducive to productivity.
