The Cadogan Song School
Heavenly Acoustic Design.
The Cadogan Song School showcases the transition from old to new in a harmonious design that visually balances a unique mix of buildings. The school is home to the St George’s Cathedral Choir and the stunning series of sculptural vaulted arches and a ‘tuning fork’ spire needed to not only look otherworldly but sound incredible. A key requirement was that the home for the Choir was to match the acoustics of the Cathedral itself.
The crisp white vaults reference the two existing visual extremes of the site – the Deanery and Ascalon.
In addition, the shape of the room is unique and has a curved perforated brass ceiling. It is only a small space so reverberation was the reason DecorTone was selected. Custom milled diffuser wall panels clad the majority of the breathtaking hall.
