Designed by global architects Populous, the Rugby Australia Building is located within Sydney’s premier sporting precinct Moore Park. The building is home to the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) and also accommodates facilities for the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), used for teaching and research in sport & exercise science, physiotherapy and sport media. The underlying principle was to create a new home for rugby in Australia and a state-of-the-art sports education facility.
This innovative development features a large quantity of DecorArti bespoke timber acoustic panels, which reflect the vibe, passion and motivation that is inherent in the building through the talent and skills of the players, coaches, health specialists and sport science professionals who learn, train and research in this new facility.
The DecorArti panels blend in beautifully with the schematics of the build, are heavy duty and impact resistant, and above all, elevate the acoustics in the centre so that noise is effortlessly absorbed.
Built by A.W. Edwards, the centre won the 2018 Excellence in Construction Award – Sporting Facilities $15m & over.
