Homebush West Public School, NSWDecorZen
Decor Systems have been thrilled to contribute to the transformation of Homebush West Public School. The student population has grown from approximately 480 students to 900 students, meaning the existing capacity had reached saturation point. The construction of a new three level building with 28 new homebases and the minor refurbishment of the existing homebases to suit future focused learning including the expansion of COLA (Covered Outdoor Learning Area) and replacement of the canteen has significantly improved the overall learning and teaching environs with the emphasis on colour, light and acoustics control.
The Decor Systems consultants worked liaised closely with the creative team at TKD Architects in the design and production of the DecorZen timber acoustic panels that are a feature throughout this new facility. Pre-finished in DecorImage, with each module having a pre-fabricated timber upturn and using a compliant fire-rated system, the outcome is stunning – both aesthetically and acoustically.
Critical to the design of this project is the use of the roof space of the building for active and passive play space. These new learning facilities are designed to meet with the school’s aspirations for contemporary education.
